Friends from the forest will lead your child into a world of fun and creativity. In addition, they will quite unobtrusively give you a good lesson in calligraphy and help you develop manual skills.
How does it work? By running a finger, pen or brush over the shapes engraved on the boards, the child practises precision and prepares the hand for writing. Why? Because before a toddler can begin to insert the first letters, he needs to develop fine motor skills – to learn how to use his hand and fingers. That’s what playing with FOREST FRIENDS is all about. Each of the six animals will teach the child a different pattern and – by the way – help the toddler learn calligraphy. Thanks to friends from the forest, preparing to learn to write becomes a wonderful adventure – a game of imagination and discovering the world with all the senses (and therefore polysensory).
For fun, you can use natural fragrant materials (cloves, cinnamon, aniseed), which will additionally stimulate the other senses – a toddler equipped with a paintbrush will feel like an archaeologist discovering ancient hieroglyphics. In addition, if you include atmospheric music (e.g. oriental and a little fairy tale), all the senses will be involved in learning to write. This is the essence of polysensory teaching, whose predecessor was Maria Montessori. But the possibilities offered by FRIENDS don’t end there. The board is a mold that can be filled with colorful homemade dough (we can use one that smells extra) – for a while the toddler becomes a sculptor or artist. These exercises are a great opportunity to hone many valuable skills. First of all, the little adept of the art of writing learns how to properly use a crayon or pencil. Secondly, exercises are a great opportunity to review the way a toddler holds what he writes. Thirdly, it is worth taking the opportunity to get the child used to the actual direction of writing from the very first moments – from left to right. What else? As befits Good Wood, we’ve taken care of a beautiful, modern design and eco-friendly, environmentally friendly materials.
Nothing but fun! PS How can you store the boards? You can hang them as pictures in the children’s room – it will be a beautiful, minimalist decoration.
